Veritiv is looking for a: IN HOUSE BROKERAGE SPECIALLIST, GLOBAL TRADE COMPLIANCE


Responsibilities:


• Obtain paperwork required to process Mexico customs entries
• Validate paperwork are in accordance with customs requirements and pursue any amendments when required
• Process entries with i-house brokerage software
• Digitalize customs paperwork as required and ensure record keeping regulations are met.
• Provide reports to analyze customs brokerage operations in Mexico
• Support the import and export operations in compliance with internal processes and applicable rules and regulations from Mexico government
• Support the approval and issuance of certificates of origin (i.e. NAFTA) for import and export
• Participate in other tasks and projects related to the Global Trade Compliance department


Required Experience:


• Minimum 1 year experience in Global Trade Compliance and Mexico customs operations preferred
• College or university training in customs or a related field an asset
• Professional Trade Compliance designation an asset
• Fluent in Spanish, English is an asset
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
• Autonomous with proven ability to work under minimal supervision
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information to external and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Ability to autonomously make decisions within the scope of the position and to know when to seek additional information.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and with teams
